My Song, Our Story explores the personal meaning behind our favourite karaoke anthems - songs of resilience, heartbreak, protest, love or just for fun.

The first phase of the project will involve workshops with partner groups, encouraging the sharing of favourite songs and exploring why these songs hold meaning.

  • What are your favourite songs and why?

  • Where did you first hear it?

  • How does it make you feel when you hear or sing it?

  • What memories or stories does it bring to mind?

It will culminate with each group inviting family and friends to share in a special event full of karaoke songs and shared stories.

Part-2: Our Story

Phase-2 of the project will work with actor, Alex Morrall, to shape the shared songs, stories and themes into a new one-man show.

This new play will be previewed to an invited audience including participants from Phase-1 of the project.
