My Song, Our Story

​My Song, Our Story explores the personal meaning behind our favourite karaoke anthems - songs of resilience, heartbreak, protest, love or just for fun.​ ​

 

Throughout 2025-26, we are working with community groups across Croydon, Sutton and Redhill, encouraging the sharing of favourite songs and asking why these songs hold meaning. Using karaoke sessions and theatre workshops we are exploring:

• What are your favourite songs and why?

• Where did you first hear it?

• How does it make you feel when you hear or sing it?

• What memories or stories does it bring to mind?

As part of the legacy of this project, we are developing a free resource pack with workshops and a script structure that will be available to download. Stay tuned ...
